55 FLOWERROAD is centrally located in Colombo’s prime residential area Colombo 7.
This precinct which is also known as Cinnamon Gardens is home to a fine mix of residential properties, schools, banks, cafés and restaurants, supermarkets and convenience stores, clothing and homeware stores, a public park, and the National Museum.
You will never be short of things to do in the neighbourhood of our Colombo apartments. When you fancy a late night out in town, the pubs and night life in Colombo Fort are only a 10 minute tuk-tuk ride away.
Getting around
The tuk-tuk is the most sought-after mode of transport to wizz through Colombo’s endless traffic peak times. Those with meterred billing protect you from extortion. The drivers are generally very friendly and would love to have an animated chat with you, in what we fondly call “Broken English” .
If you’re taking a train ride and heading “up-country”, the Colombo Fort railway station is a fifteen-minute commute. The breathtaking panoramic views as the train slowly winds it’s way up the hills are especially worth the effort.
To head “down-south”, hop on a train from the Colpetty (“Kollupitiya” or Colombo 3) railway station; a mere five-minute commute.
If you’re travelling with family, you may want to rent a car for the duration of your holiday, or just for the longer journeys out of town. An airport pick-up/drop-off costs around USD35~50, and vehicle rentals range between USD25~100 per day. We offer dedicated free parking within our premises for our 2br apartments, and car-cleaning services at a nominal fee.
Our guests can enjoy the free use of our two bicycles to take a ride along the streets of the city. The cooler late evenings once the traffic has eased, are a great time to explore the city and get your bearings. Bookings can be arranged with our staff.

55 FLOWERROAD was my husband’s home throughout his childhood. Years later, when our two boys were still very young, we renovated the old home to accommodate the needs of our growing family. When we relocated overseas, our home was rented for almost ten years to a lovely family who enjoyed the house for its unique style and prime location.
In 2017, we embarked on a grand adventure to completely transform the place we once called home, to what it is today. I have always dreamt of running a business of my own, and the natural path was to develop 55 FLOWERROAD to a business enterprise. In 2022, THE LOFT @FIFTYFIVE and THE NOOK @FIFTYFIVE were added to our portfolio offering the adventurous traveller unique living experiences.
I’m thrilled to be co-hosting our spaces with Gayathri, who also happens to be my niece. Coming from a family of strong women, she has a no-nonsense approach to all things logistical and thrives in guest-interface. She has a wealth of experience in e-marketing in the travel & tourism industry, and I consider myself very lucky to have her on board.
As a family, we have precious memories of our years at 55 FLOWERROAD, and although it now offers modern living experiences, it remains the perfect Colombo home with a class and character of its own.
